I am a mom of 2(one is almost 7 and the other is 6months.) I am married to my husband who has degenerative disk disease in his neck and upper back. He is currently unable to work due to the severity of his DDD. I am a travel CNA. We try to make it off just my income, most of the time we are doing ok, recently all the needs of facilities have dried up and I am down to 2 or 3 days a week of work. Our bills have fallen behind. We are 2 months behind on our water bill and one of our car payments which both are due within 10 days and I have no idea where the funds for either is going to come. Our total bills a month are about 1800 and right now I'm not making enough to cover that. I don't know where to go or what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
These ten tips can help you to cut down on general expenses and overcome your financial struggles, I have used meny if not all of them and not that I am rollin in money but I am keeping my head above water in these hard times. I have to say that according to some of the top economist things are not going to get better anytime soon, its up to us a people to start making the changes we need to so we can survive these time and be in shape for when things get better and they will get better.
1. Spend Less on Gas
Driving erratically has a negative impact on fuel economy, because accelerating quickly and braking suddenly uses more gas than would be used when driving conservatively. By accelerating at a moderate pace and braking less often, you can increase gas mileage and spend less on gas. You can also save money on gas by seeking stations with the lowest prices. Gaspricewatch.com can help to compare gas prices in your area. Also if you can walk to the store or your kids school or ride a bike then do this. I can not tell you howmuch I have saved on gas by just using the legs that GOD blessed me with to get from point a to point b and oh yes I alsolost about 10 pounds so you get added benefits.
2. Save Money on Your Phone Bill
With cell phones becomming increasingly popular, people are using their landlines less and less. If you find yourself using only your cell phone, you would be wise to cancel your land line and thereby save upwards of $50 a month on phone expenses. And, once you're down to only a cell phone, you can save even more money by finding the cheapest plan that fits your needs. Myrateplan.com can help you decide which cell phone plan is the best value for you. I know some will save that you need the land line for the internet...wrong.. you can use you cell phone with your desk top to get online and guess what faster
3. Keep Track of Your Spending
By recording exactly how you spend your money for one month, you'll be able to see where all your cash really goes. You may find, for example, that you're throwing away $20 a week on fast food runs. By becoming aware of what you're actually spending, you may be able to cut back on needless expenses. See what spending you can do for yourself instead of paying someone else.
4. Save Spare Change
Instead of leaving it in your purse or wallet where you'll likely spend it, save spare change in a jar. A few cents here or there may not seem like much, but it really does add up. Saving just a dollar a day in change equates to saving $365 in a year!
5.Save Money on Bank Fees
Be sure to sign up with a bank that has free checking. You should never have to pay for your checking account. Also, by withdrawing money only from the ATM machine at your own bank, you'll rack up savings in ATM fees.
6. Use Cash, Not Credit
You're less likely to overspend if you're paying with cash instead of a credit card, because cash obligates you to immediately pay for what you're purchasing. When you're going to the grocery store, for example, you'll be less likely to spend $20 extra on junk food that isn't on your list if you only have a $100 bill to spend.
7. Use Direct Deposit
Have a portion of each paycheck automatically deposited into your savings account. If you never have access to that money, you can't spend it and likely won't even miss it.
8. Eat at Home
Cooking meals at home is far less expensive than eating out every night. For the same price that you'll spend on one night of dining out, you can buy enough food at the grocery to make up to a week's worth of dinners at home. That is not to say that you should eliminate all trips to the restaurant, but cutting out just one or two restaurant meals a week can save you hundreds of dollars a year.
9. Pay All Your Bills on Time, and Pay Credit Card Bills in Full
By paying for all your bills on time, you will eliminate late fees and save up to $30 on each bill. And, if you must have a credit card, pay it off in full each month. Paying only the minimum balance each month costs much more over the long run, as you will pay high amounts of interest.
10. Look for Ways to Save on Income Taxes
You may be able to receive a tax cut that you're not aware of. Make sure you know of tax cuts relating to charity, children, education etc. so you're not paying more in income taxes than you need to be.

Hi, my name is Charlene. I am a 25 year old wife and mother of 3 gorgeous girls. My husband and I have had a really rough year with our jobs. We both do merchandising, and we work for the same company. The begining of the year was great, steady work, running car, things were looking up from the year before when we had to stop our home based business due to sales dropping and eventually stopping all together. At this point everyone I call is telling me there are no funds... they're out. They tell me to call back in a week or so, and once again they're out. Anyway, my husband and I have had to borrow from my parents and his mother to survive this entire past year, and our jobs have not picked back up yet. We have been applying to, and looking for a new job for the past 6 months. Not even McDonalds is hiring here. We tried! There will be no christmas for the kids this year, but for now we have a roof and lights!
If anyone would be willing to pay some of our utility bills (water, power) we would be very greatful! I would not need any cash or checks or anything, you could pay it directly to the company. No tricks! Promise! If we don't get some help soon, our water and power will be cut off by the end of the month, as we still have no work lined up, and our unemployment is still pending (going on 4 weeks now since we applied).
Our wages for October TOGETHER was around 650.00 and for November around 800.00 because we got hired out for a couple days with another company. Rent alone is 500.00 a month. We "made too much" for foodstamps (our case worker was an idiot and we should be getting them any day now, 2 months later after fighting with them for weeks). So food has been gotten from food banks for the most part... lots of MYSTERY cans! LoL
ANYTHING you might be able to do to help would be a blessing! Thank you for taking the time to read this crazy random message! We need help and prayers desprately!

Hi, My name is Gwen Queen, my hubby is disabled, and needs to have surgery. Living at home with us is our daughter and her 8 month of son, and our son. We need help in paying our bills and fixing our van.
Our van doesn't have reverce and we have to watch how we park. Plus the drivers door is held on by a cord, and you have to put wires together to get the windows up. Plus we don't have ins. on it, that we just can't afford. Even thou I have a job I only work 32 hours a week, if I'm lucking. Our electric will be shut off at the end of the month. Our phone too. My hubby is on SSI, but they are cutting his check. Everything we have is in pawn. If I can get $1.00 from from each person who reads this I can get everything taken care of and my hubby can get the surgery he needs with out worring about us at home.
Can someone help please. I live in Arkansas and can pay back a small amount every paycheck. PLEASE. $1,000 would be most helpful, more if you can spare it. I'm looking for a better paying job, but need to pay my gas bill and electric bill ... gas has already been shut off, electric has been deferred for a week. And I don't have my rent as of today, which was due on the 1st. Thank you.

I am in desperate need $420 to have my power turned on. This is the deposit amount required by Alabama Power which is determined by previous history (which I have none with them), and is then double the amount of a typical power bill from this residence. I am a single mother with 2 children who is currently on an FMLA leave from work for medical reasons. I have tried to come up with the money by asking family members but just can't find anyone who has it available. I offered to make a smaller deposit and then have the remainder of the deposit added to my monthly bill but they wouldn't allow me to do that. Does anyone have an idea where I could get help? Thanks for your input.

Hello, I am a single mother of 3(ages 3,9,11), I work full time and am also a full time student. I am looking for assistance in paying back rent to avoid eviction. I like many others am living check to check. I missed a few weeks of work being out with my son during his surgery and needless to say I fell behind on my bills. I am slowly getting the utilities caught up but desperately need help with the rent. I am behind $1840 and any contributions would help, whether .50 cents, $1, $5 every little bit would be appreciated. I am even willing to set up a payment plan to pay it back if need be. No money has to ever touch my hands, I can give you the name, address and phone number to my apartment rental company. I have been to local charities who tell me my income is too high to qualify for assistance and my church can't help with the funds either. It's funny how my job is the one thing stopping me from getting assistance. If I had no income then the local places would assist me. My mother is no longer living and my father is pretty much in a similar situation as he was just layed off and his wife is carrying all of their bills on a smaller income than mine. Again, I would be extremely grateful for anything someone could bless me with. Thanks!
In a desperate situation and need help for Christmas. Things are touch for everyone, I know but if someone can please help, I would really appreciate it. Please, I have three boys who are as of right now not going to have Christmas this year. But that is the least of our worries, we may not even have a home at Christmas. I am looking for work and there are no jobs in my area. So if you can help please consider helping us.
Please Help! I am suffering from physical and mental anguish. I lost my job a couple of months ago and then disqualified for unemployment. I am suffering from a Kidney stone and a lung infection and getting by on pain pills. My bills are past due to the point of being shutoff! This is Texas and one cannot be without AC. My reserves are all gone. I have an interview for another position and I do not even have enough for gas in the car! I need help to make this transition to get back on my feet. If no help monetarily, please do so in prayer.
I am a single parent with unpaid bills. I have the car, phone and light bills that are due. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please help. I have one child at home. The light bill is 130.50. I paid my other bills that were due with a credit card. When the credit card bill is received, I will not have the money for the credit card now. I do not have faith in others now. I have been on the website before receiving the disconnect notices. I have now received a disconnect notice for the electricity.
